Due to continued growth and a very secure workload, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Construction Engineer to join our successful design and installation team based in Grimsby. In return you will receive an excellent hourly paid salary and benefits package based on experience and qualifications.

As a Construction Engineer your duties will be to provide engineering support to the construction / installation and testing of our systems for a wide range of national clients.  You will have responsibility for supporting the Construction Manager and a team of installation supervisors and technicians, delivering all site works in a safe and efficient way and, ensuring that works are completed in accordance with our quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Establishment co-ordination
  • Delivering upon safety, environmental and quality requirements
  • Support the construction team in the installation, fault finding and repair EC&I systems
  • Testing and inspection of EC&I installations
  • Review of tender packs and production of estimates
  • Read EC&I drawings, schedules and installation standards
  • Plan and organise your resources, including equipment registers, calibration conformity and training renewals.
  • Carry out site installation quality inspections, walkdowns and handover
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, vendors and relevant authorities
  • Prepare test and inspection documents for installation and ensure all completed documentation is accurate and collated for handover within project timescales
  • Work to client, national and international standards and regulations
  • Manage workshop based builds (i.e. kiosk, panels etc)
  • Attend training, develop and maintain skills
  • Monitor progress and report against schedule and manage the achievement of deadline/commercial targets.
  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of Construction meetings

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:


  • Formal Electrical/Instrumentation qualification
  • City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition Course
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (desirable)
  • Full driving licence
  • Formal Health & Safety Qualification – ISOHH/NEBOSH (desirable)
  • Gas Networks SCO91, SCO1/2 (desirable)


  • Apprentice trained
  • Supervision / Management of installation works
  • Supporting Tendering / Estimating
  • Hazardous area installations
  • Panel building
  • Producing Risk Assessments / Method Statements
  • Gas network experience would be beneficial
