We’re hiring a Control and Instrumentation Designer to help deliver some of our most important engineering projects. But this is more than technical design — it’s about how our clients experience working with Technica.

You’ll bring ideas to life through detailed C&I designs, contributing directly to project success while acting as a trusted partner to both our clients and engineering teams.

How you’ll Contribute

You’ll be accountable for delivering control and instrumentation designs from concept through to final sign-off — ensuring every detail aligns with the technical requirements and what success looks like for the client

You’ll:

  • Prepare and check C&I detailed design documentation.
  • Work from P&IDs and site layouts.
  • Prepare and check C&I drawings including general arrangements, cables routes, block diagrams, loops sheets, hook-ups.
  • Prepare and check control panel designs including general arrangements and wiring diagrams.
  • Specify equipment and prepare and check C&I datasheets.
  • Prepare and check C&I schedules including I/O, cable, instrument list etc.
  • Perform design calculations including IS, power, heat loss.
  • Prepare and check scope of work and other associated design documentation.
  • Liaise with other members of the design team.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and vendors.
  • Work to client, national and international standards and regulations.
  • Adhere to company quality and standards.
  • Carry out work in a safe and effective manner.
  • Attend training, develop and maintain skills.

 

What you’ll bring

Essentials:

  • Proficiency in control systems design and implementation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • HNC Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or related field

 

 

Desirables:

  • 3 years C&I design experience
  • Gas and ATEX Experience
  • Relevant industry certifications
  • Electrical experience and knowledge
