About Technica Ltd

Technica is an independent engineering and construction company solving complex challenges for the UK and international energy sectors. We deliver turnkey, multi-disciplinary projects — from design through to build — with control, confidence and care.

Our ‘Why’:
“Technica believe in long-term relationships. We want our clients to have total trust that we’ll deliver excellence in our solutions to their engineering problems.”

Technica is in an exciting phase of growth, driven by an ambitious 5-year strategy that will see us continue to expand, evolve, and strengthen our role in the energy transition. It’s an exciting time to join a business where you can grow your career, make a real impact, and help shape the future alongside a supportive and experienced team.

Why this role matters

We’re hiring experienced Project Managers to lead some of our most important engineering projects. This is more than project administration — it requires someone who understands engineering delivery and can provide clear leadership from scope through to completion.

This role is ideal for someone who:
• Has a strong engineering background and understands the realities of delivering technical projects
• Thrives on ownership and creates direction and clarity in complex project environments
• Balances programme, cost, quality and risk when making decisions
• Builds credible, long-term relationships with clients and delivery teams

A strong engineering background is essential, although this does not need to be specifically within Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation (EC&I) or the energy sector.
You’ll work alongside experienced Senior Engineers and subject matter experts who will provide specialist EC&I knowledge. Alongside your engineering grounding, we need a Project Manager who exercises sound judgement, communicates clearly and brings people together around a structured delivery plan.

How you’ll lead

You’ll be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of engineering projects — from scope and mobilisation through to handover and close-out — ensuring safety, quality, programme and cost remain aligned.

You’ll:
• Lead internal and external teams to deliver high-impact engineering solutions
• Establish clear delivery plans, responsibilities, milestones and reporting arrangements
• Build and maintain open, trust-based client relationships
• Manage budgets, forecasts, programmes, resources, risks and change control
• Run progress meetings and provide clear, accurate updates
• Coordinate suppliers and subcontractors with appropriate commercial awareness
• Ensure alignment with CDM requirements, QHSE processes and relevant ISO standards
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and pride in delivery

What you’ll bring

Essential experience and capability:
• A strong engineering background, with practical experience working within an engineering discipline or engineering-led environment
• Strong project controls and commercial knowledge, including cost, programme, risk, resources, reporting and change management
• An understanding of CDM requirements and working within structured QHSE systems
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and client communication skills

Useful, but not essential:
• Experience of NEC contracts
• A recognised project management qualification or equivalent practical experience
• A relevant health and safety qualification
• Experience within the energy sector or knowledge of EC&I systems

What you’ll get

• £71,000–£78,000 salary, depending on experience and level of appointment
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays
• Company Performance Bonus Scheme
• Private healthcare (plus family options)
• Company pension
• Death in Service & Critical Illness cover
• Flexible, UK-based working with purposeful office and client attendance
• Recognition scheme & genuine commitment to your development
