You’ll work alongside some of the industry’s most respected Engineers who provide subject matter expertise. What we need is an Estimating Engineer who can combine technical knowledge with commercial awareness, earning trust through accuracy, professionalism, and insight

How you’ll Contribute

You’ll be accountable for delivering high-quality estimating and proposal services that form the foundation of our projects. From preparing technical bids to compiling tender responses, you’ll ensure every submission reflects accuracy, commercial awareness, and the high standards our clients expect.

You’ll:

  • Prepare scopes of work, technical bids, and cost estimates
  • Review and validate Material Take-Offs (MTOs)
  • Assist the Proposals Controller, Bid Manager, and Business Development Director in compiling tender responses
  • Source and evaluate specialist vendors, third-party services, and quotations
  • Prepare tender documentation including programmes, execution plans, and risk registers
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and standards relevant to Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (E&I) systems
  • Provide technical support to engineering teams as required
  • Mentor less experienced team members and contribute to a culture of collaboration and accountability
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures, QHSE requirements, and continual improvement initiatives

What you’ll bring

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in cost estimating and proposals within engineering or construction
  • Strong technical background in Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (E&I) design and/or construction
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to align estimates with project scope and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong mathematical ability and written communication skills
  • Minimum NVQ 3 / HNC in a relevant engineering discipline

How you’ll Contribute

As a graduate engineer, you’ll support the delivery of electrical or control and instrumentation designs from concept through to final sign-off — helping ensure every detail meets technical requirements and client expectations, while developing your skills and understanding through hands-on project experience.

 

You’ll:

  • Work alongside an experienced engineering team with either an electrical or control & instrumentation focus, with guidance and mentoring provided throughout
  • Identify key client requirements
  • Ensure designs are accurate and in accordance with current standards, legislation and client requirements
  • Support team members with technical issues/queries
  • Prepare, check and approve various engineering designs, calculations, drawings & documentation
  • Assist in the preparation of project plans
  • Specify equipment and prepare datasheets
  • Liaise with internal team members
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and vendors (after a period of guidance and training)
  • Attend internal and external meetings
  • Carry out work in a safe and effective manner
  • Attend Site surveys
  • Work to company, client, national and international standards and regulations

What you’ll bring

Essentials:

  • Electrical or Instrumentation & Control Degree required (ideally accredited by the IET/InstMC).
  • Strong IT Skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel etc)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Have a creative approach to problem solving
  • Able to self-motivate and work on your own initiative
  • Ability to work well with a multi-disciplinary team

You’ll be responsible for installing electrical and instrumentation systems on a variety of industrial sites — making sure all work meets client expectations and project standards for quality and performance

You will:

  • Install electrical and instrumentation systems across a range of industrial sites.
  • Fault find and repair electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Complete testing of installations.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schedules and vendor specifications.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and appropriate authorities.
  • ‘Red pen’ construction drawings and documentation.
  • Adherence to client regulations and standards.
  • Be a good ambassador for our company.
  • Ensure Technica Values and Standards are maintained

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Recognised professional qualification in electrical Installation – NVQ Level 3 C&G or equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ experience in industrial installation
  • Full UK driving license
  • Be prepared to work away from home for up to 80% of the year
  • Ability to think on your feet and be self-motivated to deliver excellent service

You’ll be accountable for delivering control and instrumentation designs from concept through to final sign-off — ensuring every detail aligns with the technical requirements and what success looks like for the client

  • Prepare and check C&I detailed design documentation.
  • Work from P&IDs and site layouts.
  • Prepare and check C&I drawings including general arrangements, cables routes, block diagrams, loops sheets, hook-ups.
  • Prepare and check control panel designs including general arrangements and wiring diagrams.
  • Specify equipment and prepare and check C&I datasheets.
  • Prepare and check C&I schedules including I/O, cable, instrument list etc.
  • Perform design calculations including IS, power, heat loss.
  • Prepare and check scope of work and other associated design documentation.
  • Liaise with other members of the design team.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and vendors.
  • Work to client, national and international standards and regulations.
  • Adhere to company quality and standards.
  • Carry out work in a safe and effective manner.
