Technica Achieves Operational Acceptance at Peterborough Compressor Station
Having successfully delivered the Fire and Gas upgrade project at Huntingdon Compressor Station in 2017, Technica were awarded a project to undertake a similar scope of works at Peterborough Compressor Station.
Technica are pleased to announce an end to the site works at Peterborough having successfully achieved operational acceptance of the project within the original outage window. Technica assumed the role of Principal Designer and Contractor under the 2015 CDM regulations, completing conceptual and detailed design, build, install and commissioning the system.
During the previous works at Huntingdon, Technica were awarded with a safety commendation from Ian Cartwright, Head of Capital Delivery at National Grid. Having leveraged their learning from Huntingdon to the Peterborough site, Technica completed the on-site works without injury and were recognised with a further award for the best overall process safety performance.
Managing Director and Owner of Technica, John Davison commented that “We are very proud of our successful completion of this second significant project for National Grid Capital Delivery within two years”. He further stated “Technica has again, demonstrated our ability to deliver complex EC&I and civil CDM projects within tight timescales”.
Project Manager, Andy Smith who has overseen the successful delivery of this project commented that “I am very pleased with the performance of our team on this complex project. They have demonstrated our ability to safely and effectively deliver large CDM projects, including significant emerging works in the form of managing a programme of asbestos abatement to facilitate the installation of cable and equipment within the station building and surrounding areas”.
