Role Description

As a Project Manager, you will lead a team of talented individuals in delivering engineering solutions to some of the most significant challenges for our energy networks.  You will be responsible for the successful delivery of all aspects of the project be that commercial, technical or safety, alongside this you will ensure that our clients are provided with a first-class service.  The work will be challenging however we will surround you with the support and resources you require to deliver success.

  • Plan and organise your workforce to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Prepare and issue regular project progress reports to your clients.
  • Ensure all internal projects kick off, progress and lessons learnt meetings are complete and recorded with clear actions and deadlines
  • Hold regular client progress meetings.
  • Monitor progress and report against schedule and manage the achievement of deadline/commercial targets.
  • Source and manage specialist services and vendors, if required.
  • Maintain accurate cash flow forecasts
  • Maintain accurate costs to complete in standard Technica template for all your projects
  • Ensure commercial notifications such as early warning notices and change orders are issued when appropriate.
  • Liaise with the client regarding all commercial issues/queries.
  • Liaise with other managers and all other business teams.
  • Recognise achievement and motivate team members.
  • Be responsible for your safety and your team’s safety
  • Ensure activities are carried out in line with company standards as documented in the Quality Management System.

Essential Criteria:

  • At least 5 years project management experience in a similar organisation delivering engineering design and construction projects
  • Commercially focused with a working knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Experience in managing projects delivered under the CDM regulations
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001

Desirable Criteria:

  • NEBOSH Managing Safely or a formal Health and Safety Management qualification
  • A recognised Project Management Qualification such as PRINCE2:2009, Agile etc or clear evidence in the use of recognised project management methodologies
  • Experience in delivering projects for the UK gas networks
  • Understanding of Electrical, Control or Instrumentation systems

Role Description

As a Control and Instrumentation Engineer you will provide engineering design support to the project manager for contracts for a wide range of clients. The Control and Instrumentation Engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify client requirements
  • Develop C&I designs
  • Prepare, check and Approve C&I design documentation
  • Specify equipment
  • Plan and carry out engineering activities
  • Liaise with other members of the design team

Role Description

As a Control and Instrumentation Designer you will provide engineering design support to the project engineers for contracts for a wide range of clients.

  • Prepare and check C&I detailed design documentation.
  • Work from P&IDs and site layouts.
  • Prepare and check C&I drawings including general arrangements, cables routes, block diagrams, loops sheets, hook-ups.
  • Prepare and check control panel designs including general arrangements and wiring diagrams.
  • Specify equipment and prepare and check C&I datasheets.

  • Perform design calculations including IS, power, heat loss.

VACANCY: E,C&I Technician

Job Description

The role will report to our Construction Management Team and will play a significant part in the successful delivery of our engineered solutions.

The role will be based out of our Grimsby Head Office which is also the location of our workshop. It is essential that you live or are willing to base yourself within commuting distance of this location.

There will be frequent visits to our client sites and this shall involve staying away from home (transport, accommodation and meal allowance will be provided by us). At times when the role is not based on client sites, there will be a requirement to work at our workshop assisting with construction activities and preparation for future installation and commissioning works.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Installing electrical and instrumentation systems across a range of industrial sites.
  • Fault finding and repair of electrical and instrumentation system
  • Testing of installations.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, schedules and vendor specifications.
  • Liaison with clients, contractors and appropriate authorities.
  • ‘Red pen’ construction drawings and documentation.
  • Leading a small team or working as part of a larger team to ensure work is completed on time and to the Technica quality standards.
  • Adherence to client regulations and standards.
  • Being a good ambassador for our company.

Essential Criteria

  • Being prepared to work away from home.
  • Weekend/bank holiday working and project specific rotations.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Recognised professional qualifications in electrical installation NVQ L3 City and Guilds or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in industrial electrical installation work.
  • Ability to think on your feet and be self-motivated to deliver an excellent service.

Desirable Criteria

  • City and Guilds 2391.
  • CompEx EX01 – 04.
  • Experience in panel building / modification.
  • Instrumentation installation experience.
  • Familiarity with working on Oil, Gas, Petrochemical or Industrial installations.SCO91 and / or SCO 1/2.
